Logline: A CIA forensic psychologist’s quiet investigation into his MI6 father’s past unravels a dangerous secret—one that could redefine human consciousness, challenge the foundations of power, and disrupt the balance of control on Earth. What he uncovers will force him to question everything he thought he knew. Based on the award-winning short film Bonding.
The feature adaptation of Bonding*, begins in late 1950s London, where Joan Flemington, a brilliant Cambridge University student, crosses paths with a charismatic and elusive young man at a party. They share a fleeting connection, but after one night together, he disappears from her life completely. When Joan discovers she is pregnant, her world is upended when government officials arrive with shocking news—her parents have died in a sudden car accident. But there’s something unsettling about their visit. They already know about her pregnancy and, without explanation, pressure her to stop searching for the father and leave the UK. In exchange, they offer financial compensation. With little choice, Joan decides to relocate to Australia, where she gives birth to her son, John Flemington, and attempts to rebuild her life—haunted by unanswered questions.
Decades later, Dr. John Flemington has built a distinguished career as a forensic psychologist for the Australian Federal Police, where his uncanny intuition and exceptional investigative skills catch the attention of the CIA. Recruited as a clinical and forensic psychologist, John begins uncovering startling truths about his estranged father’s past—revelations that pull him into a labyrinth of espionage, covert operations, and suppressed knowledge.
As he delves deeper, John recalls the vivid out-of-body experiences of his youth—visions that hint at a profound connection to the very mysteries he now faces. While working with the CIA, he is introduced to the Gateway Process, a classified initiative developed with the Monroe Institute to explore the boundaries of human consciousness. His search leads him to Anastasia Mansfield, a shadowy underground operative who reveals the true significance of ancient Germanic runes—symbols tied to a long-suppressed knowledge that could unlock the next stage of human evolution.
But not everyone believes humanity is ready for such a discovery. As John pieces together the mystery, he finds himself at odds with his enigmatic CIA superior—a man who has spent decades guarding these secrets. The implications extend beyond science and espionage; they threaten governments, religions, and the very structure of power itself.

*Please note, some earlier press releases have stated that Dr. John Flemington is the son of James Bond. Although this was alluded to in the short film and was being explored for the feature, this relationship will not be the creative direction for the film, nor is it imperative for the story. In fact, we believe this would be an unnecessary detraction from the originality of Resonance.
